I have been the Head of School at Stocklake Park since 2022 and I have been advocating for children and adults with learning difficulties for more than 20 years. After studying child development and neurodiversity as part of my psychology degree it highlighted the challenges faced through traditional methods of teaching. It opened my eyes to the possibilities when using alternative approaches with those who have different abilities. I have been hugely privileged to work with children and adults with special needs and to have been part of their journey.

I joined the MASKS charity after seeing the students’ enjoying activities funded through the charity, such as our Leavers Prom which is a highlight for the students and families in the 6th form. I am keen to support a range of fund-raising activities, many of which are instigated by staff who are passionate about providing opportunities for our young people. I’m not one for running marathons, but manning stalls at Christmas fayres is more my style!
